Summary: This book is a novel based on a true story about a small mining town in eastern Pennsylvania, called Coaltown. The main character is Mike Lucas. The saga encompasses the time period from the 1920's through the early 1950's. It includes the horrors of the 1918 flu that killed over 700,000 people in the United States. Then comes the Depression and World War II. It covers several of the boys that went to fight in the World War and never came back. And there's a love story about two of the soldiers and their girlfriends.
